Global Trade Compliance Specialist - Saint-Laurent, Canada - Imperial Dade

- Responsibilities:
- Support the import and export operations in compliance with internal processes and applicable rules and regulations from US and Canada governments.
- Create proforma export invoices and Shippers Letter of Instructions for international shipments and conduct RPS screening
- Support the approval and issuance of certificates of origin (i.e. USMCA,CAFTA) for import and export
- Conduct indepth reviews of the different documents used in the customs clearance process and audit customs entries for accuracy.
- Coordinate Air & Ocean Cargo movement
- Support departmental accounting functions
- Answer general questions related to international transactions (mostly Canada and the USA)
- Work with foreign suppliers on compliance issues
- Submit and/or explain customs compliance documents based on specific requests
- Participate in other tasks and projects related to the Global Trade Compliance department
- Qualifications:
- Fluent in English, functional French, Spanish is an asset
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel. Intermediate knowledge of Access software
- Autonomous with proven ability to work under mínimal supervision
- Ability to autonomously make decisions within the scope of the position and to know when to seek additional information.
- Detail oriented, selfmotivated, ability to work independently and with teams
Required Experience/Education**:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Global Trade Compliance and customs operations preferred
- College or university training in customs or a related field an asset
- Professional designation (CCS) an asset
- Thorough knowledge of import/export and related trade regulations and the ability to understand other regulations (OGD) preferred
