Description

SUMMARY Must work in a safe and efficient manner and comply with Stackpole International's Health & Safety Policies and Procedures and Quality Systems, Procedures and Policies.

Must become familiar and work with SPS, 5S and CI activities. Support production activities of facility by performing duties & responsibilities below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform secondary operations, e.g. tumbling, oil impregnating, steam treating and packing.

Safely transport properly identified material from process to process; store in appropriate

location. Secure required approval where necessary.

Communicate with operators and observe parts requirements in order to maintain a continuous supply of material for secondary operations (e.g. drilling, tapping, machining, etc.)

Load and transport mixed powder metal material onto appropriate press in safe and timely manner to maintain continuous production.

Collect and dispose of scrap bins, floor sweepings, scrap powder and parts at Compacting.


Assist shipping staff, as required to pack product, attach proper identification, place on proper skids, prepare for shipment (rack/wrap) and perform inventory.

Maintain clean and safe work areas including storing all materials in appropriate location.

Report vehicle operating difficulties to direct Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor immediately. If vehicle is unsafe, complete necessary work orders, tag and remove from service and report to appropriate supervisor.

Return vehicle to location at end of shift and recharge battery.

Perform operator duties on an "as required" basis.

Ensures that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety Systems are met.


QUALIFICATIONS
Must have legible writing in order to complete product description tags and assist in inventory counts. Must be physically fit in order to move/lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Awareness of safe lifting techniques and proper forklift operation. Previous forklift experience an asset.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Grade 12 education or equivalent a requisite.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Proficient in English

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Proficient in Math

REASONING ABILITY Good interpersonal skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Lift truck license. May require Transportation Of Dangerous Goods Training.
