Description

We are growing and hiring Machine Technicians to carry out preventive maintenance/repairs on all machines and production equipment.

This role works with the Team Leads, Supervisors and other company staff on operating and troubleshooting problems with production equipment.

The role is a regular full-time position for one of each of the following shifts. The shifts are permanent, not rotating. Please let us know which you prefer. Employees may train on the day shift for 1 to 2 weeks.

Weekday Day Shift:
Monday through Thursday: 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; includes a 30-minute paid break.

Weekday Night Shift:
Monday through Thursday: 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.; includes a 30-minute paid break.

Weekend Shift:
Friday through Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; includes a 30-minute paid break.

Full benefits after successful completion of a 3-month probation period.

Responsibilities include:

Assist in the root cause analysis process to determine the immediate cause and help develop sustaining counter measures.
Maintain a wide variety of power tools in good/safe working condition including annual/monthly safety inspections as required by Work Safe BC Regulation.
Assist in the design, fabrication, and installation of new production equipment.
Assist in the reengineering of existing production lines or equipment to ensure that continuous improvement and/or safety objectives are met.
Report major incidents that cause a serious machine downtime or when extra help is required to the Facility Manager.
Report deviations, defects, or nonconformance to the supervisor immediately.
Be available on call to perform repairs as required or provide guidance over the phone.
Other duties as required.

Skills and Requirements:

Experience with maintenance of machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with quality systems and procedures.
Physically fit and able to lift, bend, stand for extended periods.
