What you will do:


Under the direction of the Manager, Alumni, the Alumni Assistant provides administrative support to the Alumni Relations team, to help engage alumni while advancing the priorities of the department (including campaigns).

Specific responsibilities include supporting alumni event design and production, planning and executing alumni communications, and data records and administration.


The incumbent also assists with:
- the online presence for the Alumni Office on various social media platforms;
- deploying various digital communications
- identifying newsworthy alumni stories
- establishing first contact to engage graduates and celebrate their success online
- cultivating and maintaining relationships with graduates to increase engagement.


This position is integral in building a strong alumni community and works closely with Humber's alumni database, which is used to track graduates and analyze engagement.


What you bring to the role:

Education
3 year diploma/ degree plus professional certification or equivalent


Experience
The following experience is essential (Minimum of three (3) years):

  • Professional experience and knowledge in digital marketing and communications; coordination of events, and use of social media for professional purposes.
  • A high degree of technical competency and proficiency with Microsoft suite products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web content management tools.
  • Proven proactive problemsolving and conflict resolution skills and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Sound knowledge of office procedures, excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
