Buyer - Fort Erie, Canada - Abatement Technologies
Description
Responsibilities:
- Review replenishment suggestions and execute purchase orders, ensuring timely processing to meet optimal
- Collaborate with suppliers to maintain purchase orders status, track shipments, and resolve discrepancies.
- Communicate any supply chain issues, inventory shortages, and extended lead times to Purchasing Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager.
- Continuously monitor inventory levels, sales data, and demand patterns to drive replenishment decision making
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Communicate Supplier Price Increases to the purchasing and operations team(s)
- Review all distribution transfer order requests, using parameters set out by Purchasing Manager, communicate fulfillment approvals to the shipping branch as well as the receiving branch.
- Act as the first point of contact for branch requests on product pricing, availability, and lead times. Provide branches with updated delivery dates.
- Liaise with the branches and finance team to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies.
- Report damaged goods or short shipments to vendors and initiate returns of defective materials for replacement, repair, or credit.
- Provide accurate and uptodate information on order delivery schedule, tracking information etc.
- Ensure timely creation of new parts for the distribution team upon approval from Purchasing Manager, including processing and creation of sales kits.
- Maintenance of new part data, including pricing and supplier information, and accuracy of unit of measure factors
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders effectively.
- Proficient in using supply chain management software and tools for inventory management and demand forecasting.
