Description

GFL Mississauga (Fielding location) is looking for a quality control/sampling technician to support the refrigerant line of business

This role is an afternoon shift position. Training will be on day shift for 1-2 months.

Key Responsibilities:

Sample inbound refrigerant materials, conduct screening analysis, record results
Ensure appropriate data entry is completed and proper assignments of material
Interpret and compare results
Blending and preparing product to prescribed specifications
Maintain a high level of organization in a fluid environment
Communicate and liaise with other departments
Housekeeping to maintain a safe work area
Respond to emergencies and help with the spills cleanup
Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and all applicable Codes
Maintain good working relationship with coworkers and customers
Some overtime required
Other duties as requested by Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

Chemical or Environmental Technology Education, related field of study or experience.
Must be able to work in a 70% indoor and 30% outdoor environment
Must be clean shaven (will have to wear a respirator)
Must be comfortable working at heights up to 10 feet
Strong organizational skills
Keen attention to detail
Exemplary communication skills
Work in an outdoor environment
