- Relevant post-secondary diploma in an Engineering or Architectural Technology program;
- New Brunswick CertifiedBui dil ng Code Official (Level 1 )certification, or the ab ility to obtain certification; and,
- Three to five years of work experience in fields related to building construction and municipal development.

- Experience with legislation, policies, procedures, protocols, rules and regulations concerning the structure and functioning of a municipal government;

Assistant Building Inspector /Development Officer
The Village of New Maryland is a growing community with many new and exciting projects taking place. We are currently in search of an Assistant Building Inspector /Development Officer to join our team and help support our Council and staff in serving the needs and expectations of our community .
Position summary: Reporting to the Senior Building Inspector/Development Officer, the primary function will be to ensure the proficient delivery of services provided by the Village's Development Services Department .
The successful candidate will be responsible to perform technical and administrative duties relating to construction plans review; building permit issuance; and inspections to ensure compliance with the NB Building Code Administration Ac antd other relevant municipal, provincial and federal codes, regulations, and local by-laws. Simultaneously, the candidate will be responsible for the coordination and review of zoning and development applications and the administration, amendment and enforcement of local by-laws within the provisions of the NB Community Planning Ac. Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Salary: $62,871-$80,719 plus a generous benefits package and room to grow.
Working conditions: This is a full time, in-person position in New Maryland, NB. Work is required some evenings or weekends to attend meetings and/or community events.
