Niagara Region currently has an opening for a student/intern placement in our Public Health Department. The position is available in January 2024 in the Medical Division.
The selected student/intern will assist with the implementation of the Health Equity Strategic Plan and other Health Equity related initiatives.
mobilizing data, evidence, and knowledge; delivering programs where people are; collaborating with and enabling partners and stakeholders; and advocating for equitable policies and programs.
The student/intern will assist with conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, analyzing data, writing reports, and engaging within Public Health and in the community.
EDUCATION
- Must be enrolled in/returning to fulltime postsecondary studies, or be within one year of graduating postsecondary studies
- Master of Public Health coop student preferred
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of Social Determinants of Health and Health Equity
- Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods
SKILLS
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Public engagement
- Ability to work as part of a team, as well as selfdirected and/or with mínimal supervision

- Critical appraisal skills
