Job Description:


AECOM is in need of aProject Controls Manager to work with our client TTC on some of their high-profile public Transit projects.

The job incumbent will be offered a regular, full-time position with AECOM and work on secondment to TTC.


Job Summary:

Setup and implementation of Integrated Project Control Systems (people, processes, tools) for the assigned project(s).

Integrating project controls in the areas of Estimating, Cost Management, Planning/Scheduling, Change Management, Performance Monitoring (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), Project Status Reporting, Project Close-out, Project Reviews & Lessons Learned, and Risk.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Setup and implement the Integrated Project Control Systems which will provide the project team with accurate and timely information on which to base decisions.
  • In conjunction with the other functional managers (where appropriate), recommend courses of remedial action to the Project Manager/s as required.
  • Maintain project estimate throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Recast estimates into the cost control breakdown to establish the control budget; maintain and align budget in accordance with the current project strategies.
  • Oversee expenditure, commitment, cost flows, foreign exchange, accruals, risk allocation, and funding; oversee period, budget and forecast management, and movement reporting.
  • Set up, maintain and update the Earned Value Measurement System.
  • Set up Project Baseline Schedule; forecast and update current plan and schedule risk allocation.
  • Manage Change Management System, including conducting periodic change management meetings with the Change Board.
  • Set up and maintain Performance Monitoring Systems for cost, schedule, earned value, procurement progress, engineering progress, and construction progress.
  • Coordinate production of period project status reports, i.e. monthly project reports and weekly flash reports.
  • Develop a plan for gathering of project close-out information; organize handover of project close-out information.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute project controls information for Project Reviews and Lessons Learned Sessions.
  • Support risk and reporting processes for the project.
  • Counsel, advise, and coach

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree eight (8) years of relevant experience in Project Controls.
  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications


  • Comprehensive knowledge of current project controls and project management principles, methods and practices as they relate to engineering design, construction, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Broad knowledge of project delivery systems and practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of accepted accounting principles, cost control measures and contract administration practices, as well as knowledge of office
