As part of the BC Public Service Agency, the Workplace Health and Safety Branch (WHS) is comprised of three core service areas: Safety, Workplace Health Services, and Health Planning and Programs.

Through these teams, WHS is mandated to build workforce safety and health by delivering programs and information to public service managers and employees to support them to manage their health and improve workforce productivity.

Within Workplace Health Services, Occupational Health and Rehabilitation (OHR) delivers specialized services to manage health issues at work; to assist ill and injured employees to return to work in a timely, safe, and sustainable manner; and to improve accountability for and management of health-related absences in the public service.

OHR works with all ministries, agencies, and participating outside employers and is staffed with Occupational Health Nurses, Injury Recovery Specialists, Occupational Health Physicians, and Medical Case Analysts.


Under the direction of the Operations and Administrative Practice Lead, the Medical Case Analyst (MCA) manages the flow of confidential medical and employee information that Workplace Health Services teams rely upon to provide disability case management services that assist ill and injured employees return to sustainable work as quickly and as safely as possible.

Guided by WHS principles of early intervention, evidence-based decision-making and customer service excellence, the MCA supports the integrated OHR team of Occupational Health Nurses, Injury Recovery Specialists, Occupational Health Physicians, and Ministry Managers.


Job Requirements:


  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent and customer service or administrative support experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to those who have:

  • A Medical Office Assistant Certification or training.
  • Experience working with data bases, corporate systems and or case management systems.
  • Customer service experience in an office setting.
  • A minimum oneyear customer service or administrative support experience.

About this Position:

This position is excluded from union membership.

There is currently a temporary opportunity available until October 13, 2023, this temporary opportunity may become permanent.
