Position Summary:


The Computer Aided Applications Specialist role supports 2D /3D CAD Tools interoperability with regards to the following packages: Tekla, Revit and Smart Plant.


How will you contribute to the team?

  • Provide technical support for Steel /Concrete / precast roles of Tekla Structures.
  • Interface with new customers for product overview, installation support & implement them for their project requirement.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues by questioning customers in a detailed fashion to understand the root cause of issues.
  • Ensure proper logging & tracking of all queries through a centralized support channel.
  • Following standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues to the appropriate internal support staff.
  • Participate in software certification, UAT testing RFC and delivery processes, ensure issues are communicated to developers and software vendors as needed.
  • Maintain Tekla borders and security identifiers.
  • Resolve software installation issues.
  • Liaise with external vendors including IT developers to investigate unusual problems with software releases/ hardware issues, or to receive assistance with hardware and peripheral malfunctions.
  • Train users as needed in supported software use, e.g. creates raster's, converts files to different image formats.
  • Support and maintain the Engineering Tools development and certification servers.
  • Liaise with Developers and Chief Designer to define and implement enhancements.

What will you contribute?

  • College Diploma or Engineering Degree specialized in IT technology and software programming from an accredited institution or a Civil College Diploma/Degree with a minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to investigate, assess and resolve issues associated with hardware and software problems.
  • Good verbal, written, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with staff, project management team, and internal clients.
  • Demonstrate initiative and resultsoriented performance.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in Structure detailing / Designing / Technical Customer support and several year's experience in Tekla Structures, with Steel detailing / design background.
  • Ability to document all work results.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate fluently.
  • Utilize good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Selfmotivated; ability to work independently but in a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills and high level of responsiveness.
  • Adequate knowledge in computer various operating systems, Network, fire wall, licensing, hardware functionalities, etc.
