The Opportunity:


The role of the Accounting Supervisor will support the daily management of the accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of all financial aspects in an efficient manner.

This position will collaborate with all members of the accounting team and oversee the Accounts Payable function.

This role is hybrid, with a requirement of 3 days onsite in the office.


Your Top Priorities:


  • Conduct routine accounting operations including journal entries, accounts payable, and statutory reporting and remittances.
  • Assist with audits and other information requests from third parties.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of new or amended accounting systems, programs, policies, procedures, and associated SOPs.
  • Oversee system of internal control of accounting functions to minimize risk.
  • Maintain prepaid, accruals and other schedules.

Reconciliation

  • Maintain, review and reconcile subledgers and general ledger.
  • Manage bank reconciliation.
  • Process expense reports, credit card reconciliations and reimbursement to client accounts.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on monthly basis.
  • Maintain financial security by researching and reconciling discrepancies; auditing and verifying documents; following internal controls; completing data backups.

Accounts Payable

  • Provide daily direction and coaching to Accounts Payable team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify and create training and development plans for direct reports
  • Oversee Accounts Payable process.
  • Prepare Payables for approval and payment.
  • Oversee and support regular Payables runs via EFT, checks and other payment methods, as required.

Reporting

  • Assist with preparation of financial statements, reports and records through collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
  • Assist with accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and yearend close.
  • Comply with local, provincial/state, and Canadian/US federal government reporting requirements and tax filings and pay taxes and statutory payments in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to Management and other team members providing adhoc reports and requests.
  • Protect the companies' value by keeping information confidential.
  • Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends.
  • Other related duties as required or assigned.

What it Takes to Succeed:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • CPA-CMA designation highly preferred.
  • 5+ year of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team to high performance, with experience of leading Account Payables, an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, with proven ability to prioritize deliverables.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with NetSuite, an asset.

Salary:
$77,000.00-$95,249.19 per year
