VISA 1P96 Studio Foundation
Basic aesthetic and conceptual processes that underlie visual art production. Two- and three-dimensional formal principles, fundamental critical issues and stylistic/material development. Examples from historic and contemporary art practice provide context for studio projects and readings.
Lectures, studio work, 5 hours per week.
Schedule: Section 2 Tuesday

Compensation
Effective September 1, $7, per half course (195 hours nominally)
Effective September 1, $14, per full course (390 hours nominally)
Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.
Duties
Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty).
Qualifications
1. MFA is required.
2. Previous teaching experience of at least two years in photography, sculpture, drawing and painting at the university level is required.
3. A record of professional activity and exhibitions in the area of studio foundation demonstrative of standing in the art community is required.
4. Evidence of competent and effective teaching experience at the undergraduate university level; and in the area to be taught are required by providing copies of recent teaching course/performance evaluations.
