Job Summary

  • Information Technology Services (ITS) is dedicated to a constructive, teamorientated environment, gathering varied perspectives, sharing knowledge, and building effective partnerships that enable our partners to achieve their goals by advising, providing solutions, and delivering service excellence in alignment with the University's mission and goals. Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations, the Security and Application Analyst is responsible for analysis activities assigned to address new and emerging requirements for security operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides security investigation, research, review, and auditing services for central IT as well as distributed IT and related groups that serve students, staff, faculty, and organizational clients. Architects and implements security services that operate with high availability and flexibly integrate into existing IT operations.
  • Designs and develops on a continual basis security configurations, services and upgrades for data centers, internet based (cloud) computing, and user devices.
  • Documents processes, playbooks, and standards for managing and executing securityoriented operations.
  • Monitors security services for alerts, determines the appropriate response, and initiates investigation, communication, and remediation as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, plus five years' experience in information security systems and implementation, preferably in a complex, multiplatform IT (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others is key.
  • Flexibility and creative problemsolving skills.

Assets

  • Master's degree in Internetworking or Computer Science.
  • Industry certifications in Security, Cisco networking and Microsoft software systems.
