The FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton is an interdisciplinary arts venue that builds community and supports art and culture as part of everyday life in Milton.

We host a variety of
shows and events,
gallery exhibitions and
art programs and workshops for individuals of all ages and artistic abilities.


Position Summary:


Major Job Responsibilities:


  • Process ticket orders over the phone and in person
  • Process registration for department programs and workshops
  • Cash handling, payment processing and balancing daily bank deposits
  • Manage routine open and closing procedures for box office
  • Redirect customer inquiries as appropriate to community organizations and businesses
  • Keeps up to date on upcoming events and ticketing policies
  • Assist customers with inquiries and resolve any issues with topnotch service and professionalism
  • Provide support to the Duty Supervisor in the event of an emergency and oversee an evacuation if necessary
  • Comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Remain flexible while on shift to support other cultural services positions
  • Executes other duties as assigned in accordance with department objectives

Education and Experience:


  • Grade 12 education; Postsecondary school diploma and/or Office Administration certificate or related education is preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a customer service role
  • Proficient math skills and experience with cash handling and deposits
  • Proficient in Windows based software including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Recreational Management Software Systems Xplor or TixHub is preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities while dealing with interruptions
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, strong problem solving skills, mature judgment and confidentiality
  • In accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to submit a satisfactory Criminal Records Check upon employment
**Hourly Rate: $16.70
