Position Overview:


Manages the performance of the Unit of Institutional and Pension Accounting and provides leadership, direction, guidance, support, and developmental opportunities to the staff.


Responsibilities:


  • Recruits new staff, identify training needs to ensure that appropriate training and cross training are made available, and develops a level of staff within the Unit so as to support succession planning.
  • Allocates and monitors workload and ensures staffing levels are appropriate (approve overtime and staff vacation schedules) to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of products and services to the corporate and institutional clients.
  • Participates in setting the department's objectives and ensure unit's objectives are attained. Ensures performance reviews and the setting of staff objectives are completed in accordance with Company policy. Provides input to the budget process and is responsible for the costs and losses of the Unit.
  • Maintains contact with clients to ensure their expectations are being met and any issues or concerns are appropriately addressed. Maintains open lines of communications with internal departments to resolve issues and provides superior client service.
  • Coordinates the preparation of statements and other ad hoc reporting for clients.
  • Develops and implements procedures and controls to improve the efficiency and reliability of the Unit

Qualifications:


  • University degree
  • 7 years progressive experience in Institutional and Pension Accounting
  • T1 courses, Pension Trust
  • Management skills and leadership ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good time management, organizational and analytical abilities
