Prerequisites

• Graduate of a relevant collegiate program such as woodworking, millwork, carpentry or cabinetmaking OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints to accurately manufacture custom millwork
• Experience identifying issues or barriers on a shop floor to complete projects on time while making recommendations to improve processes
• Proven analytical, problemsolving and criticalthinking skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Ability to utilize machinery, equipment, and power tools applicable to the trade while following safety standards
• Must have valid driver's license and a reliable method of transportation to commute to the shop
• Experience with woodworking considered a strong asset
• Knowledge of project management principles, methods and techniques would be considered an asset

Conditions of employment

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week


Flexible Language Requirement:

• French not required

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

- carpentry: 3 years (preferred)
