The OBASA Group of Companies & MyKey Global Accommodations are exciting, fast-growing technology-enhanced vendor management solutions serving the insurance industry and helping people with emergency accommodation in times of need.

The OBASA Group of Companies is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Controller. The Senior Controller will serve as a member of the Leadership Team and reports directly to the President.


The Assistant Controller will partner with the full management team to continuously improve gross margin and profitability and set financial and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining effective financial policies and procedures and records in accordance with good practice of internal controls.
  • Utilize company technology, such as the proprietary Simply Accounting, QuickBooks, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Enter Accounts Payable invoices, auditing for discrepancies to the Purchase Order
  • Assist the President and CFO with special projects as assigned. Review existing staffing, financial, administrative, and business processes, practices, and internal controls with the objective of improvement of efficiency and effectiveness. Design and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Responsible for overseeing and improving financial reporting, including the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements to management with the goal of creating systems that will enable the maximization of proceeds under the Transaction. Analysis and timely reporting of monthly operating and financial results is a critical responsibility of this position.
  • Provide lead role in assessing new projects by identifying key risk factors and providing appropriate analysis, due diligence, integration, budget/forecast preparation, review, and management with a focus on enhancing current profitability and proceeds under the Transaction
  • Key role in drafting and critiquing financial statements, preparation of yearend working papers in a timely manner, and management of external accounting costs and external accounting relationship.

Qualifications:


  • A CPA designation with experience in a leadership role
  • A confident leader with a high level of integrity and dependability; has a strong sense of urgency and is resultsoriented with a dedicated work ethic
  • Entrepreneurial and able to navigate in a fastmoving environment
  • Experience with QuickBooks
