Data Management Specialist (SAP ECC & S/4HANA)
Overview
The Data Management Specialist will support SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA data migration activities, including master and transactional data mapping, conversion, cleansing, and cutover.
The role requires hands-on expertise with SAP data structures, configuration, conversion tools, and cross‑functional dependencies. The specialist will also prepare documentation, provide knowledge transfer, and collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
The Data Management Specialist will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- SAP Data Mapping & Analysis
Perform SAP ECC and S/4HANA master data table and field mapping, including evaluation of check table values and distinguishing custom vs.
standard fields.Map SAP transactional data tables and fields as required.
Analyze, describe, and document cross‑module table and field dependencies and the impact on data migration sequencing.
- SAP Transactions, Processes & Configuration
Provide hands‑on guidance on executing and maintaining SAP transactions and process flows.
Support configuration activities related to SAP Information Steward, SAP Data Services, and other applicable tools.
- Data Migration & Conversion
Develop detailed Conversion Functional Specifications, including:
Requirements
Table/field mapping
Check tables
Conversion rules
Unit test criteria
Collaborate with ABAP Developers to support creation of technical specifications and conversion programs (ABAP, LSMW, etc.).
Prepare detailed data migration plans for SAP QA and Production cutover activities.
Execute data cutover activities and support troubleshooting of master and transactional data issues throughout migration cycles.
- Data Quality, Cleansing & SME Support
Deliver troubleshooting and remediation support for data issues during migration and cutover.
- Documentation & Training
Provide ongoing knowledge transfer (oral, written, or presentations) to internal personnel as required.
Required Qualifications
Experience Requirements
Must meet the minimum demonstrated relevant experience as per level (L3).
Must demonstrate completion of the required percentage of tasks listed above on previous projects.
SAP Certification
Must hold any SAP certifications required in the Task Authorization (TA), as outlined in Annex A – Statement of Work.
Language RequirementsMust meet the language requirements identified in the TA (typically English).
Security Clearance
Must hold a valid security clearance at the level specified in the TA.
