    What you will do:

    The incumbent will teach, design and develop curriculum, regularly design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning

    environment for our students, implement innovative instructional techniques, assess student progress and achievement, work collaboratively

    with colleagues, participate on Faculty and Humber committees and

    related associations.

    The incumbent will also contribute to the overall direction of the programs, support student advising, student mentoring, student recruitment,

    assist with the promotion and marketing of programs and develop and maintain strong industry ties.

    Teaching will be assigned at both the North and Lakeshore campuses and may include teaching at the International Graduate School (Toronto).

    Qualifications

    What you bring to the role:

    Education

    The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in a related field that is in line with the Media Communications program.

    Experience

    The successful candidate will have post-secondary teaching experience along with extensive experience working in the media and

    communications industry. Candidates should have versatile skills across multiple disciplines in the creative industry and a proficient command

    of various Adobe Creative Suite software. Additionally, they should be familiar with current industry and technological advancements.

    Skills

    Industry acumen and experience is required along with specialized skills in several of the following areas taught in the Media Communications

    program: Media Writing, Copyrighting, Social Media Marketing, Content Creation, Graphic Design, Digital Imaging (Photo/Video), Web Design,

    Media Planning and Creative Entrepreneurship.

    Additionally, the successful candidate should also have some of the following general traits, qualifications, and experience:

  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and support students
  • Experience managing classroom dynamics
  • Understanding of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (EDIB)
  • Commitment to and support of equity, diversity and inclusivity in classroom
  • Commitment to a team approach for problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to deliver curriculum in a manner that meets the needs of diverse learners
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning
  • Previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
