Scope


Surrey's Park Partnership team aims to increase meaningful connection to park spaces through engaging and educational park programs, special events, and volunteer opportunities.

We believe that access to nature and outdoor spaces helps to develop connected, healthy communities.


Responsibilities:

Host the welcome booth during garden openings at Darts Hill Garden Park and/or The Glades Woodland Garden. Open and close the gardens during public openings. Enhance visitor experience by interacting with guests in the garden. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, staff, and volunteers. Provide information to the public regarding openings, programs, and memberships in a courteous and professional manner. Assist in collecting visitor statistics and entrance donations. Performs other job related duties as required.

This position requires some physical work such as equipment set-up and take-down and working outside with exposure to all types of weather conditions.

Applicants must be able to work Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and occasionally evenings.


Qualifications:


Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by 1 year of relevant experience in community service work or an equivalent acceptable combination of training and experience.

Demonstrated leadership and/or supervisory experience. Occupational First Aid Level One, or acceptable equivalent.
Valid BC Driver's License with a safe driving history.
Must be available for weekend shifts.

Conditions of Employment

This position requires completion of a Police Information Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
