Position Overview:

The Pan Am Clinic is currently seeking a Laundry/Waste Disposal Aide.

Reporting to the Manager, Surgery & MDR, the incumbent is responsible for providing laundry and waste disposal duties in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Processing of laundry (washing, drying, folding, etc.).
Operation of residential and commercial washer and dryers.
Adhering to Quality Assurance and Policies and Procedures.
Handling and transporting of laundry throughout the clinic.
Maintenance of inventory.
Interaction with clinic personnel ensuring supply issues.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):

Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies required (Manitoba Standards).

Certification/Licensure/Registration:

Not Applicable

Qualifications and Skills:

Must be able to function effectively in a stressful environment with frequent interruptions.
Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
Seamstress skills would be an asset.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Subject to Immunization and Tuberculin Testing as per WRHA policy.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.

Effective April 1, 2024, Golden West Centennial Lodge will also be part of the WRHA legal entity.
