Your Opportunity:

FMC Psychiatric Adult Service is a sub
- acute service providing time limited, goal directed therapy to patients with a variety of mood and anxiety disorders. As the Mental Health Clinician, you will be required to perform the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention utilizing a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment (psychotherapy). Therapists and Psychiatrists work collaboratively, with the main focus of the role including comprehensive assessments, time limited individual therapy and group therapy.


Description:


As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities.

You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders.

You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required.

You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists.

Required Qualifications:


Occupational Therapists:
Completion of bachelor¿s degree in Occupational Therapy and active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)


Psychologists:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Psychology and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses:
Completion of an accredited Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing education program and active (or eligible registration) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA)


Social Workers:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work and active (or eligible registration) with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years working in a direct therapy position within Adult Addiction and Mental Health. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable regulatory college.


Note:
if registered with ACSW, require authorization to perform restricted activities.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with time limited/goal-oriented therapy in an outpatient adult addiction and mental health setting. Demonstrated understanding of all Addiction and Mental Health programs within the Calgary Zone.

Proficiency with individual therapy, manage a case list, work within tight timeframes, and adhere to policies around total sessions and triggered reviews.

Proficiency with both CBT and DBT therapy modalities. SFBT and Trauma therapy considered an asset.
