Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor's degree in Social Work (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be completed annually. Experience working with clients/families within neuro rehabilitation over the last 5 years. Intermediate computer and cell phone skills including the use of Microsoft Office and Connect Care. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation. Ability to perform all duties in accordance with related legislation.

Physically able to perform all assigned tasks:
Lifting and transferring patients as required. Pushing and pulling items of approximately 50 kgs. Reaching horizontally or above the head. Walking, standing and/or sitting for extended periods. Computer work. Demonstrated strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to communicate and function effectively within a patient and family centered team of health care professionals and support staff.

Proven initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and be creative. Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of experience in neuro rehabilitation within the last 5 years. Experience working with clients/families in a community or home setting. Demonstrated continuing education or research in the area of neuro rehabilitation. Experience providing group teaching or education. Participation in or leading quality improvement projects.
