community around accessing individualized support.
Regent Park Food Hub offers impactful programs for the community to come together to cook, grow, share and
advocate for quality food access. The Regent Park Food Hub includes a Community Meal Program, Food and Culinary
Skills Training and opportunities for community food skills programing.
Fred Victor Centre is currently looking for an experienced and passionate
Chef Manager to oversee the operations in 3
priority areas:
- Fred Victor Meal Programs
- Our Social Purpose Enterprise - Internal and External Catering
- Food production for Warming Centres and Respite Centres
insecurity. The role necessitates an innovative community minded Chef who believes in Fred Victor's mission, vision,
and values. The Chef Manager oversees the daily operations of our Meal Programs, Social Purpose Enterprise, and
Internal/External Catering Program, including the hiring, training, and overseeing of kitchen staff, peers, internships,
volunteers and ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective meals.

What You Will Do:
- Works closely with Senior Manager-Food Services and a food services team to deliver standardized meal
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of catered meals to internal/external programs, ensuring they meet
- shelter standards.
- Designs new recipes, and plans menus to meet the needs of clients.**
- Trains staff to use new recipes, cooking techniques and equipment, and oversees the cooks performing food
- preparation.
- Manage a team of kitchen staff, including scheduling, training, and providing leadership.
- Assist the Senior Community Chef with the coordination of cook's tasks.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, maintain equipment and budget.
- Work closely with program managers to ensure all meals are nutritious, highquality, and meet dietary needs.
- Collaborate with the team on menu planning and meal preparation for large groups.
- Ensure compliance with shelter standards and regulations.
- Obtain feedback on food and service quality, and address concerns and complaints.
- Works with The Senior Manager of Food Services to develop Fred Victor's SPE (Social Purpose Enterprise).
- Weekend availability is required.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 5+ years' experience in kitchen management and catering sales management
- Culinary degree and at least five years of experience in kitchen management and large food services team
- environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of community development and food justice principles, and an ability to embed
- Exceptional leadership skills are required for organizing and coordinating the kitchen and catering team.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Familiarity with shelter standards and experience with menu planning for large groups.
