- Help mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs on buses
- Assist with basic tasks such as replacing lights, topping up fluids
- Spring and winter maintenance
- Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
- Bus starts on cold mornings
- Clean shop and return tools to the proper location
- Building and yard maintenance
- Attend and participate in safety meetings and inspections
- Perform various other related duties as assigned
- Registered Apprentice or looking to become one
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Knowledge of vehicle repair
- Ability to listen and follow instructions
- Ability to read service and repair manuals
- Comfortable using power and hand tools
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Related experience preferred
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
- Must be able to work safely in a shop environment which can include loud noise, fumes, and variation in temperature
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Standard Bus Contracting is currently looking for an Apprentice Mechanic / Shop Hand to join our maintenance team in Chetwynd. This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined and self-starting individual who is looking to gain experience or potentially enrolling in an apprenticeship program.
