POSITION SUMMARY

Apprentice Welders assist skilled trades people in welding, brazing, and thermal and arc cutting activities and perform labour activities at our various construction and project sites. Employees are expected to support and participate in a "culture of safety" and adhere to and be ambassadors of Strike's Code of Conduct and Values, and to treat others with dignity, respect, and fairness. Site is at the Cenovus Foster Creek facility on the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range

Shift is 8 on/6 off

12 hour days

Final day of shift is an 8 hour day, and then travel for days off

$300/shift travel allowance

Camp accommodations provided

CORE ACOUNTABILITIES

Assist with pipe spool fit up

Assist journeypersons with rigging and hoisting of spools

Pipe cutting and end prep of pipe

Bring material to fitters

Assist welders with spool set up

QUALIFICATIONS Education

Must be a registered 1st or 2nd year Apprentice with the appropriate provincial or federal authority

Training

Must have or be willing to obtain valid H2S Alive and CSTS 2020 or PST tickets - CSTS 09 and CSO/BSO will not be accepted

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES

Must be able to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol testing

Able to lift 50 pounds

Comfortable working outdoors
