About the job
As the
Regional Sales Manager, Agricultural Division you will manage the DLF brand in Eastern

Quebec with an emphasis on:

  • Manage and support the DLF Agricultural sales network.
  • Recruit, train, and support new sales team members.
  • Achieve growth of the overall DLF network.
Ensure "total customer satisfaction" for both external and internal customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Keep the Director of Quebec Operations well informed through formal and informal communication including biweekly reports which includes customer and prospect updates.
  • Facilitate DLF territory planning, kickoff meetings, develop and document next steps and take appropriate action to support plan execution.
  • Implement a formal approach to market development. This will include a database of customers/potential customers, market intelligence, call list formalization, feedback and an evaluation of salesperson performance in relation to area market share and potential.
  • Significantly increase the intensity of Call list and new account development intensity.
  • Lead the annual territory budget process ensuring the budget represents 'stretch' but achievable targets aligned with corporate organic growth objectives.
  • Provide sales projections by representative, product, and dollar to ensure adequate production planning to support growth.
  • Identify specific net new sales representative targets.
  • Identify specific large account targets.
  • Review biweekly and monthly sales reports to ensure sales and margins are on plan and develop corrective actions when necessary.
  • Support Customer Service Standards and actions arising from "Roundtable" sessions
  • Maintain a high service orientation to customers and sales team, and report exceptions as necessary.
  • Increase territory market share through recruitment, large accounts and organic growth initiatives with existing agents under the DLF specific guidelines.
  • Energize and motivate sales team to aggressively pursue business throughout the year with primary focus during booking periods.
  • Support sales team as required with onfarm calls, trade shows and product inquiries.
  • Manage various account and sales management tasks including accounts receivable and credit holds through the regular review of aged accounts receivable listings, collection of overdue accounts and reconciliation of agent stock accounts (with the support of customer service and finance teams)
  • Provide the Marketing Team with technical news, testimonials etc. to ensure a relevant and current social media platform.
  • Balance the need to assume appropriate responsibility, accountability and authority with the need to seek input and approval on key matters.
  • Foster a team approach with full and open cross functional communication; ensure that cross functional dynamics are focused on problem solving.
  • Promote a safe, healthy work environment by maintaining a zerotolerance standard of reducing risk of threat or injury, ensuring adequate training in specific work tasks, and compliance with legislative requirements

Qualifications:

❖ Team player
❖ B. Sc. (agronomist) / Diploma in agricultural, sales or business-related field
❖ 5+ years of experience in agricultural sales-related business
❖ Demonstrate completion of applicable sales training programs
❖ Demonstrated leadership activities
❖ 50% travel time across Eastern Ontario and other countries as requested
❖ Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills (Bilingual).
❖ Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization skills and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
❖ Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
❖ Proficiency with Microsoft Office


Compensation and Benefits:


This position comes with a competitive compensation plan that includes a base salary, bonus plan, benefits, Group RRSP option with company matching program.

Compensation will be based on experience.
