    Salary Range: SP3, Level 5, $88,792 - $110,990. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

    Technical Document Writer – Hybrid

    The Opportunity

    The Digital Transformation & Business Delivery group is recruiting for a Limited Term Technical Writer. As a Technical Document Writer, you will be responsible for providing expertise in communicating complex, technical information to internal and external audiences through various delivery modes and technical writing best practices. Key to this role is writing and editing documentation related to digital transformation product delivery and supporting the document writing needs of various projects within the Regulatory Enhancement Branch.

    What your day-to-day will look like:

    • Use technical writing best practices to produce documentation to maximize user readability and comprehension through the use of Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) standards and the Microsoft Writing Style Guide for document layout, active voice, sentence length, and structure. Develop participant guides and instructor guides for training delivery.
    • Collaborate with Operations business area subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop clean and concise content for operational processes, procedures, forms, and quick reference guides.
    • Facilitate final document delivery through verifications, key stakeholder sign-off, and method of delivery as directed.
    • Identify document improvement opportunities, escalating issues, and recommending solutions. Recommend creative solutions for document templates and document development processes.

    What we're looking for in you:

    • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English or a related field with a minimum 5+ years of technical writing experience.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Prosci Certification would be considered an asset.
    • Ability to maintain composure under pressure while adhering to deadlines and clear communication with customers.
    • Ability to educate business SMEs about how to initially author documentation.
    • Experience with Digital Adoption Platforms is considered an asset.
