- Meet regularly with the MCC U.S. and MCC Canada IP Directors to determine tasks, priorities and direction.
- Supervise the Global Service Learning Director, the International Program Safety and Security Specialist, and other positions as determined
- Participate in IP and Advocacy director meetings (virtual and in-person)
- Participate as appropriate in GSL orientations and re-entry gatherings in Akron, PA
- Meet twice a year with support people for Country Representatives and Area Directors (coaches/mentors and administrative support couples); give follow-up to issues named in these meetings
- Travel both nationally and internationally is required, in sometimes challenging circumstances
- Participate in regular check-ins with CDR (Communications and Donor Relations) / DMC (Development Marketing and Communications), Finance, HR, IT, PLDR (Planning Learning and Disaster Response) and the Advocacy offices
- Ensure follow-up to actionable items identified in the above-named check-ins
- Create new strategies and clarify existing procedures, policies and expectations, based on engagement with a variety of MCC departments and stakeholders, who will sometimes represent competing interests and needs
- Participate in meetings of relevant working groups, standing committees and reference committees (e.g., Seek reference committee, Seed reference committee, Financial Policies for IP Standing Committee, etc.), and ensure appropriate follow-up is given to actionable items
- Monitor monthly financial reports, participate in quarterly budget comparison meetings, manage expenditures within budgets and policies and assist the MCC U.S. and Canada IPDs in the development of an annual program budget
- Participate in regular staff meetings, spending time in devotions and prayer with all in attendance
- Ensure that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is exemplified in the performance of all job responsibilities and through personal example.
- Model nonviolent peacemaking through daily interactions with staff and the public
- Participate in a local church and gatherings, being willing to use his or her gifts within the local faith community
- Mental ability is needed to deal with complexity of issues, and breadth of relationships that need to be maintained within and beyond MCC.
- Other duties as assigned on a temporary basis

Associate International Program Director
The Associate International Program Director (AIPD) will assist the MCC U.S. and MCC Canada International Program Directors in managing International Program (IP) responsibilities. This will include the supervision of the Director of Global Service and Learning (GSL), the International Program Safety and Security Specialist, and possibly other positions. A major focus of the role will be to operationalize the follow-up to a myriad of issues/initiatives that arise on a continuous basis in discussion with the directors of other departments in MCC.

Undergraduate degree in a social science or related field with a concentration on international development or peacebuilding preferred (or a relevant combination of experience and education)
Minimum 5 Years of Experience in international development including understanding of program planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
Management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead a team, build consensus within a team, empower staff, and move agenda forward
Knowledge of current issues in the field of disaster relief, sustainable community development, justice, and peacebuilding
Strong relational, verbal, and written communication and diplomatic skills in group leadership within an organization.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in crises and personnel situations
Capacity to plan and evaluate existing program and envision new program possibilities
Ability to articulate MCC's vision/mission, and to interpret both within the organization and to constituent groups
Understanding of systemic oppression and how it impacts organizational culture and program delivery
An understanding of and commitment to global Christian mission
An understanding of MCC as an inter-Mennonite service agency founded by North American Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches
Ability to travel within the U.S., Canada, and internationally

Preferred:
Master's Degree in in a social science or related field with a concentration on international development or peacebuilding
Prior experience with MCC or a related Anabaptist agency
Fluency in French, Spanish or other language used in MCC International Program
