    Directors in this role will work as a leader of several project teams supporting clients on a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, litigation, pricing, and product development. Our clients demand leading edge products and expertise, and as a director with our firm, you can expect to gain tremendous exposure to all facets of life insurance operations.     The Role
    • Lead parts of large projects or whole small projects to meet client engagement objectives
    • Manage and direct more junior colleagues that perform analysis and develop tools, ensuring a high quality work product has been prepared and will be delivered the client
    • Share knowledge and experience with other colleagues
    • Mentor junior colleagues
    • Work collaboratively with others on a project team
    • Review peer work product as a quality control measure
    • Lead client correspondence in both written and verbal format
    • Lead meetings and interactions with clients, managing expections and raise appropriate issues to Client Relationship Managers
    • Contribute to development of intellectual capital that leads to our service offerings such as Predictive Analytics, Financial Modeling, Experience Analysis, Regulation Changes among others
    • Support revenue generation for the firm by meeting billable hour expectations and generating new business as part of the broader client relationship management team
    • Complete CE requirements to maintain SOA and CIA credentials
    Qualifications

    The Requirements
    • At least 15 years of experience in an actuarial role at a life insurance company, consulting firm, or financial services organization
    • Strong technical skills, preferably with ability to direct and review work produced in at least one of: Microsoft Excel with VBA, SQL, or R
    • Expertise in financial modeling and leading projects using GGY AXIS software is a plus
    • Expertise in at least one specific life insurance and/or annuity product line
    • Expertise in at least one of the following functional areas as applied to the life insurance industry: predictive analytics / data science, experience studies, financial reporting, financial modeling, mergers & acquisitions, and product development / pricing.
    • Motivated, independent learner willing to share their knowledge with others
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a local team and coordinate teams across multiple offices
    • Ability to direct work involving technical issues and requiring problem solving skills
    • Ability to effectively assist junior colleagues
    • Ability to explain the big picture as to why an assignment needs to be performed, how it fits in to the final objective and ensure that tasks performed are directly linked to client objectives
    • Ability to balance supporting and leading multiple projects with multiple clients, including timely communication of project and deliverable status
    • Flexibility to put in extra effort to meet client deadlines when necessary
    • Strong oral and written communication skills to explain work product, findings, and recommendations to junior colleagues, peers, and clients
