General Manual Machinist
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled General Manual Machinist to join our team.
As a General Manual Machinist, you will be using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to produce precision metal parts.
You will be using your knowledge of the working properties of metals and your skill with machine tools to plan and carry out the operations needed to make machined products that meet precise specifications.
Specifically, a GeneralManual Machinist:
reads and interprets complex engineering drawings and work-process documentation, cuts, shapes, and finishes metal to make precision machined parts and components, sets up and operates both conventional and numerically controlled metal-cutting machines and equipment, including saws, drills, grinders, lathes, and mills and performs work-in-process measuring or checking using specialized and precision tools and equipment.
This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.Client Industry:

Salary:
$35-38 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to perform repetitive machining operations.
- Operate manual lathe, milling machines, horizontal and vertical boring mills.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments such as micrometers or calipers.
- Perform precision machining to fabricate parts with tight tolerances
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Repetitive machining operations such as Turning, Milling, Boring and Broaching.
- Any other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be residing either in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, or Guelph area.
- Must have a reliable mode of transportation, preferably owns a car.
- Previous experience as a general manual machinist in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
- Strong knowledge of machining techniques and processes.
- Proficiency in operating manual lathes and milling machines.
- Ability to set up and operate horizontal and vertical boring mills.
- Relevant education i.e. machine technologist, mechanical engineering, 429A certification etc.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Expertise in practicing workplace safety SOPs.
- Ability to work effectively in a noisy, hot, and fastpaced environment.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$35.00-$38.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift

- Cambridge, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
