Fonthill Lumber is expanding their operation to include a retail based store at their location in Welland ON. This retail facility will serve the building and contractoring community in the Niagara Region and beyond.
We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Store Clerk with construction and carpentry experience to join our team.

As a Store Clerk, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the store.

Duties:

• Greet customers as they enter the store and provide them with assistance
• Answer customer inquiries and provide accurate information about products and promotions
• Process customer transactions using cash registers or other electronic devices
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and arranging displays
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock is low
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient store operations
• Follow all safety and security procedures to protect company assets

Skills:

• Strong organizational skills to maintain an orderly store environment
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone
• Exceptional customer service skills to provide a positive shopping experience
• Basic math skills for processing transactions and handling cash
• Ability to sell products by effectively communicating their features and benefits
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for assisting diverse customers
• Cash handling experience to accurately process payments and give change
• Upselling skills to recommend additional products or services to customers
• Familiarity with technology sales is an advantage
