    Responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Advisor

    • Act as the portfolio commercial management subject matter expert, providing input to numerous projects;
    • Perform day-to-day commercial management activities including, but not limited to, attending and/or chairing progress meetings, drafting of contract and change documents as required, facilitate change processes, negotiations, facilitating and negotiation of claims and disputes as required, tracking of contract submittals and other deliverables, monitor contract interpretation; facilitate competitive tendering process for materials, goods, services and equipment. Evaluate submitted bids including tender analysis and recommendation.
    • In addition to above commercial management duties, assist in the development and implementation of best practice commercial processes and procedures and lead change management policies.
    • Provide commercial and contractual advice to the team and exercise sound judgement to engage legal council as required.

    Key success factors for the role will include the ability to work with and influence others (both internal and external stakeholders), the ability to understand and optimize detailed contract terms and conditions and the ability to implement continuous improvements to streamline processes.

    Qualifications
    • At least 15 years' experience in a large project environment, specifically infrastructure
    • Demonstrated experience managing and understanding complex consulting services and construction contracts is required
    • Experience operating within municipal and government environments would be beneficial
    • Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiating, planning and organizational skills
    • Proven abilities (as they relate to commercial management) in influencing internal and external parties, managing risk, and optimizing and overcoming challenges and achieving project success.
    • Proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
