Objective & Overview
- Reporting to the Site Director, the union laborer plays an important role in starting up the plant at the beginning of the season, carrying out preventive maintenance, inspecting and repairing equipment when required and assisting the team leaders during major work.
- Hours/Location/Pay Rate
- Hours: Between 4055 hours per week depending on the season
- Location: Sainte-Adele, QC, Canada
- Shift: Day (6:3017:00) and Evening (11:3022h00)
- Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
- Safety
- Implement and lead Lafarge safety standard
- Wearing mandatory PPE when outside of vehicle/equipment;
- Ensures and supports a good safety behavior of customers and contractors;
- Perform and report detailed daily inspections on operated equipment;
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness inside and outside of equipment.
- Operations
- Conduct and document daily inspections;
- Carry out cleaning tasks around the plant and inside the garage;
- Carry out general maintenance tasks;
- Keep the premises clean and safe;
- Drive a skid and a water truck if necessary;
- May be asked to work outside of usual working hours when required by the employer
Qualification Profile
- Education:
- High School Diploma & Valid Driver's License (Class 3-5)
- Years of experience:
- Minimum 2 to 3 years' experience within the construction industry;
- Knowledge & skills:
- Knowledge of mechanics and welding tasks;
- Knowledge road construction materials
