    Cardiac Sonographer Echocardiology (Job ID: 2751)

    The primary role of the Cardiac Sonographer is to perform diagnostic Echo imaging procedures at the request of the physician to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with cardiac disease. It also includes Transesophageal echocardiography, Exercise Stress Echo, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Pediatric Echo, clinical research protocols, teaching of Cardiology fellows, residents and Mohawk College students, quality assurance, communications, customer services, and computer support.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Able to work effectively as a member of an inter-professional team, collaborating with other disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care
    • Contributes to the academic mandate of the organization as an educator, resource or support for staff, students and members of the academic and professional community
    • Identifies and addresses educational needs for patients and their families
    • Demonstrates commitment to ongoing professional development in order to continue to provide optimal patient care
    • Is committed to, and participates in, ongoing quality improvement in the organization
    • Provides patient care in accordance with all professional and organizational standards

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree, graduate of an accredited educational program in Cardiac Sonography required
    • Current registration with ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)and/or CRCS-AE with Sonography Canada required
    • Mandatory membership with CMRITO(College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario) required
    • Current CPR certification required
    • Excellent communication, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
    • Proven flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills as relates to patient care
    • Demonstrated commitment to and involvement with own profession (e.g. membership with professional association, etc.) preferred
    • Effective and demonstrated team skills
    • Must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends as directed by the Program.
    • This position will end on January 31, 2025
