is seeking a dedicated Fabrication - Lead Hand to join our dynamic team. As a crucial member of our fabrication department, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing production on the shop floor, ensuring quality and efficiency in our steel fabrication operations.

Responsibilities:

Team Support and Coordination:

• Assist the Fabrication Supervisor in leading and coordinating the activities of the fabrication team.
• Provide handson support and guidance to workers on the production floor, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

Work Allocation and Monitoring:

• Help allocate work assignments and manage workloads to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Monitor the progress of tasks, providing feedback to team members and making adjustments as necessary.

Safety Adherence:

• Uphold and promote a culture of safety within the fabrication department, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety checks and inspections, addressing any hazards or incidents promptly.

4.


Quality Control:

• Assist in maintaining quality standards by conducting regular visual inspections of fabricated components.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to address any quality issues and ensure adherence to specifications.

5.


Equipment Maintenance:

• Assist in monitoring the condition of fabrication equipment and machinery, reporting maintenance needs as required.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule routine maintenance tasks and minimize downtime.

6.


Training and Development:

• Identify training needs among team members and provide onthejob training and support as necessary.
• Encourage professional development and skill enhancement to improve overall performance.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a structural steel fitter
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications
• Knowledge of welding processes such as GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts
• Strong communication and problemsolving skills
• Ability to teach and oversee new and experienced fitters and welders

From $35.00 per hour
