Role and Responsibilities

  • The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the health care team (at Mount Sinai Hospital and University Health Network) to:
  • implement and maintain all research trials and studies (all aspects);
- recruit study participants (e.g. identify and screen potential participants, obtain informed consent);
- conduct study visits, procure and prepare specimens for shipping and collect and maintain data/source documentation;
- complete data entry, generate reports, and execute administrative aspects of study (e.g. communication with the Research Ethics Board, other investigators/collaborators, Sponsors, and with Health Canada, as applicable);
- review study-related literature, and contribute to manuscript and presentation preparation and submission as required;
- overall processing of a patient clinic - summarize patient history accurately, performs various reception responsibilities including making appointments and answering patient queries; coordinates and facilitates the efficient flow of patients through the various stages of their visit and ensuring follow-up is arranged; communicates effectively in person and by telephone with internal and external parties; coordinates the scheduling of patient appointments;
- must be flexible with respect to time;
- perform some administrative tasks (such as coordinating/organizing or planning meetings, minutes taking, providing direct and/or functional supervision for assigned personnel, completing finance forms for reimburesments);
- and other related tasks as required.


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in health related field or equivalent. MSc preferred.
  • Knowledge of research regulations and guidelines, including the ICH/GCP guidelines, Tri-Council Policy, FDA CFR and Health Canada TPP required
  • Clinical research certification obtained or in progress (Humber College, SoCRA or ACRP)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent decisionmaking and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access) is required
  • A recent Provincial Directive mandates all employees of public hospitals in Ontario to be either fully vaccinated for COVID19 or be regularly tested. All new employees joining Sinai Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID19 or have received at least one dose of a COVID19 vaccine and be on track toward full vaccination within six (6) weeks; participating in mandatory twice weekly Rapid Antigen Testing Program until fully vaccinated. There are very limited circumstances in which approval will be given for a medical exemption from receiving the COVID19 vaccine._
