    Description

    Responsibilities:

    Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Dispatching drivers and managing scheduling & logistics as needed with the necessary permits and directions
  • Providing ongoing support and assistance to drivers from start of job to finish
  • Managing incoming phone calls from drivers, customers, management
  • Communicating with supervisors in the field to ensure adequate tools, equipment and manpower is available
  • Monitoring road conditions, bans, construction zones and accidents to revise routes as needed
  • Maintaining accurate and timely data information in company's custom dispatch and quoting platform
  • Maintaining and updating annual permits
  • Active communication with customers to address concerns and requests in a professional and efficient manner
  • Ensuring high standards of safe work practices while maintaining optimal efficiency
  • Establishing methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities
  • Resolving work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Assisting in the resolution of equipment problems
  • Monitoring job progress and provide regular reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Reviewing and verifying paperwork such as daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.
  • Working with customer/contractor dispatchers to develop a scheduling system to coordinate, track and provide trucking for delivery of product to customer jobsites
  • Skills and Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) + years of experience dispatching for trucking and/or heavy hauling, and/or crane or picker truck company. Including ordering Provincial oversize/overweight permits, coordinating third party utility escorts.
  • High level understanding of size and weight restrictions, Hours of Service Regulations, compliance with jurisdictional transportation regulations.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills & strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to build relationships with employees in all departments and levels of the organization by dealing with everyone professionally and tactfully
  • Ability to promote positive safety culture
  • Computer literacy, in general, with Microsoft Office training
  • Good financial and business awareness to be able to provide the company with cost-effective solutions
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team
  • Able to maintain and build relationships with ENTREC customers
  • Ability to bring new customers to company will be considered a definite asset
  • Candidate must have a clean driver's abstract
