Our Tudor style Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.


Position Summary


We are looking for a Full-Time Maintenance Technician who will work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure that all areas of the Clubhouse, including dining areas, offices, washrooms, locker rooms and external facilities (range hut, tennis house, and halfway house) are maintained to the highest standard.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Facility Manager and Supervisor with the overall maintenance of the facility. This will include mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building equipment repairs along with painting, carpentry and special projects. Liaise with external contractors and inspectors, identify and assess maintenance issues and conduct daily inspections of the facility.
  • Maintain log books pertaining to projects and HVAC systems.
  • Take receipt of deliveries and store items relating to maintenance.
  • Report maintenance deficiencies to the Facility Manager.
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance work as requested by the Facility Manager, ensuring that the work is carried out safely, efficiently and with minimum disruption to members and guests.
  • Perform cleanup at the end of the day or when the job is completed, including picking up tools, spills, debris and cleaning work areas and completing touchup work as needed.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of all fire emergency systems.
  • Complete monthly audits of fire extinguishers.
  • Ensure that all effort is made to repair faults to rooms without delay to avoid any inconvenience to members.
  • Perform preparatory work for maintenance activities, including gathering equipment, materials, supplies, loading and unloading materials.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with coworkers, members, guests and supervisors.
  • Assist in other departments when required.
  • Perform a variety of routine physical labour tasks.
  • Work independently or in a team situation.
  • Build and maintain positive relations with all departments and respond with a sense of urgency to maintenance service requests.
  • With every task completed, ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, building code and health and safety issues.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager to coordinate major building efficiencies and repairs.
  • Performs all work in a safe, cautious and professional manner. Wear personal protective equipment (as required) and use all machine safety guards at all times. Heavy lifting, kneeling and bending involved.
  • Assist with setting up rooms for events and functions.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Facility Manager.
  • Assess mechanical malfunctions and contact appropriate service provider.
  • Work closely with the cleaning department to coordinate special event functions.

Requirements:


  • 23 years of proven previous experience performing general building maintenance and repairs in a professional environment
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must have basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, masonry, painting and general repair
  • Experience with power saws, maintenance equipment and general shop tools is required
  • Ability to work with chemicals and solvents
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must provide a criminal background certificate
  • Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift and carry up to 50lbs, move and push objects weighing up to 75 pounds and to lift, move and carry objects weighing more than 75 pounds with assistance
  • Must have accurate measuring skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Serviceoriented courteous and friendly
  • Must be able to perform work with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Work efficiently while managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and able to meet tight deadlines when required
  • Must have no difficulty with sitting, standing, climbing stairs, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling
