AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:


Under the supervision of the Operations Coordinator/Supervisor on Duty, assist with the maintenance of all amenities of assigned facility to ensure cleanliness and that the building is clean and safely operated at all times.


  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist in maintaining safe and tidy spaces ensuring equipment is setup and stored appropriately
  • Maintain facility, grounds, equipment and amenities i.e. pick litter, snow/ice removal, cut grass, wash and strip floors, windows and doors, clean washrooms, change rooms, empty garbage
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation, care of tools and equipment
  • Liaise with the public with a positive customer service approach to provide information regarding the facility, to arrange room rentals, etc.
  • Monitor user functions to ensure that building security is maintained and the rental contract is adhered to
  • Assist with setup and take down of event spaces for functions, i.e. socials, trainings and meetings
  • Maintain building grounds, litter picking, shovel snow, clear ice in winter, etc.
  • Assist with checking and monitoring mechanical systems
  • Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures, log books and checklists)
  • Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
  • Maintain an understanding of department programs and services
  • Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff
  • Attend meetings/training as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SELECTION CRITERIA:


  • Minimum 15 years of age
  • Ability to work in varying and extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to obtain City of Brampton Off-Road Permit and equipment licenses within 1 month of date of hire
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire
  • Ability to successfully complete Propane Certification training within 1 month of date of hire
  • Smart Serve certification,, considered an asset
  • Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.)
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
