PRIMARY FUNCTION:


Provides consistent high quality recruitment practices to attract and retain top talent while providing HR support to maximize organizational effectiveness and help drive Eastern's competitive advantage through our people practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Recruitment Coordination:

Coordinate recruitment activities and events including prescreening of resumes and applicants, reference checking, preparation of new hire authorizations and offer letters for approval and organization of the orientation and onboarding process, career fairs and campus recruitment.

Track and report on recruitment metrics.

Manage and organize all recruitment events and build effective relationships with Colleges and Universities, Recruiters and Consultants to help build our brand.


Training and Development:
Source, enroll, track and monitor all training activity. Making recommendations as appropriate.


Employee Relations:

Provides coaching and resources to employees and managers with respect to compensation, staffing initiatives, performance management, and employee relations.

Demonstrates leadership and integrity with the aim to facilitate improved performance and employee engagement.

Listens, understands, and responds appropriately to employee questions and concerns. Probes to obtain information about issues and needs. Takes the appropriate action to achieve resolution and follow-up.

Maintains a professional, composed manner when interacting with employees. Handles employee enquiries in a courteous and confidential manner with a sense of urgency.

Teamwork:

Demonstrates an ability to develop and maintain rapport with others, one-on-one and in teams. Demonstrates an ability to communicate clearly with people at various levels of the organization.


JOB KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS:


Communication Skills:

Excellent communication skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently or in a team with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Ensures effective and timely internal communication.

Is comfortable in making presentations and acting as company representative at various career events and recruitment drives, as well as at Company social functions.


Accuracy and Attention to Detail:

Ability to pay close attention to detail when preparing documents and reports and ensures a high level of accuracy when updating/inputing database information to maintain data integrity.

Computer Skills:

Ability to proficiently use PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Jonas to complete daily functions efficiently. Willingness to learn new software skills

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


1.

Education:

Post-Secondary Education or College Diploma in Business or Administrative Studies, Human Resources or equivalent work experience. Continuing education in Human Resources best practices preferred.


2.

Experience:

Minimum Three years prior related experience
