The Buyer will be responsible for managing the inventory replenishment process through MRP. Ensuring that manufacturing is adequately serviced for regular peak times.

Inventory levels are controlled considering inventory turns and production fill rates, assist in developing, implementing current and/or new process and execute in the most effective manner.


The primary purpose of this position is to assist and develop Procurement Strategies which ensures the purchase of the highest quality goods and services, at the best price in a timely manner for the Company, consistent with ergoCentric's commitment to continual improvement in our products, services, quality systems and processes.

Standard Job Duties

  • Provide the highest level of service to all departments where required.
  • Identify, recommend and implement continuous process improvement opportunities within the inventory replenishment process.
  • Support the development and implementation of special projects as required.
  • Build and develop relationships with suppliers.
  • Review daily MRP reporting to determine materials required.
  • Maintain MRP calculation to ensure inventory levels.
  • Process purchase orders to vendors through Syspro 6.1 in accordance with the Company's policy.
  • Expedite purchase orders to ensure on time delivery from vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing with vendors.
  • Process vendor credit/returns.
  • Monitor and forecast inventory levels as well as safety stocks
  • Research and identify new suppliers and materials.
  • Review and assess tenders/quotes from potential new suppliers.
  • Respond to special requests from the Customer Service Team and/or Sales team.
  • Participate in ISO audits.
  • Ensure supplier compliance
  • Work with accounting department to ensure accurate supplier invoicing and resolve any discrepancies. Ensure all deposits and payments are made to oversea suppliers when needed in order not to delay shipments.
  • Assist with lowering cost and secure agreements.
  • Work closely with Research and development team to assist with product development.
  • All other duties that may be assigned.
  • Communicate with freight forwarders and custom brokers on oversea shipments where required making sure necessary paperwork Is available for clearance etc.
  • Obtain quotes to determine best method of shipping.

Requirements:


  • Degree in relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years related experiences.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships are essential.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, MS Office and Power point.
  • Knowledge of Syspro is an asset.
