Job Description:


We are presently recruiting for a Manager in the Real Assets Investment Management group within the Real Assets (RA) department.

The role is based in Toronto and will report to the GLT - Managing Director, Head of Real Assets Strategy and Operations.


Role-specific Accountabilities:


  • Support the operational needs of the Investment Groups across RA. Act as part of a critical team that enables first line execution of investment processes and reporting.
  • Act to support the continued development of effective partnerships between the Real Assets department and the key enabling functions across CPP Investments including Operations, Finance, Public Affairs and Legal and Compliance.
  • Oversee the preparation of investment management reports and presentations for the RA leadership team and CPP Investments' senior management team on an annual, quarterly and ad hoc basis.
  • Work with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement new management reporting and monitoring initiatives to support investment decisions.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to consolidate RA department level reporting. This includes tracking of RA level department objectives, preparing and consolidating monthly updates to the senior management team of the organization.
  • Provide support on ad hoc projects such as developing the endtoend process for capital management.
  • Support the Managing Director to develop and consolidate the annual business plan for the RA department.
  • In partnership with Finance, review and analyze the financial performance of the Real Assets investment department.
  • Coordinate external and internal communications for the RA department.
  • Oversee and support other projects and initiatives as required by the Real Assets Investment Management group.
  • Continually assess current reporting processes and recommend appropriate enhancements to adapt to changing business needs or meet regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years of investment management experience in a progressing role. Experience in the real estate/infrastructure/sustainable energy investment industry is considered an asset.
  • An undergraduate degree in commerce required; professional investment designation (CPA, CFA or equivalent) is considered an asset.
  • Practical experiences with data visualization tool including, Tableau and Microsoft Power BI are required.
  • Practical experiences with Python programming language are considered an asset.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask, willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as to perform effectively in a teamoriented environment.
  • Extremely motivated, eager to learn, adaptable and determined.
  • Ability to work in a high performing culture, under pressure and with timesensitive deadlines.
