Summary:


Under the direction of the IT Manager, the It Support Administrator will be responsible for establishing, operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and coordinating the use of local/wide area networks, servers, hardware, software, related computer equipment, and mobile communications devices.

The incumbent will be required to maintain the company's IT infrastructure and ensure the full potential of connectivity and performance to support business objectives.


Key Focuses:


  • Provide remote and desk side support to all Fort McKay Group of Companies staff.
  • Monitor performance of the company's IT infrastructure (local sever and the cloud), as well as monitor performance of company assigned IT devices.
  • Add and remove users, appropriate licensing, and anticipate any issues with the system.
  • Installation and administration of all thirdparty vendor software.
  • Provide problemsolving services and instruct staff on the basic care and operation of desktop and laptop computers, printers, and other related peripheral equipment.
  • Perform data backup and disaster recovery operations/procedures as needed.
  • Manage and maintain IT inventory to ensure mínimal turnaround time for repair or replacement of assets as necessary.
  • Install, track, and maintain company internal phone system. Order additional equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with the IT Manager and identify opportunities for hardware and/or software upgrades and equipment replacements within the existing client infrastructure.
  • Assist the IT Manager with any assigned projects or directives to support operations in alignment with the company's objectives.

Experience and Education:


  • At least 35 years of progressive experience in an IT environment is required.
  • Postsecondary education in Computer Sciences, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems is required or equivalent experience.
  • A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3year Drivers Abstract.
  • Full knowledge in MS Office 365 and relevant product licenses is required.
  • Experience with Ubiquiti and SonicWall is considered an asset.
  • Experience in SAP by Design and Ceridian Dayforce is considered an asset.
  • Operating Systems: Windows OS and Mobile OS (IOS), Windows Server 2008 and newer.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of coworkers, and the protection of FMGOC and client's property in accordance and compliance with company practices, industry standards, and government regulations.
This is a full-time position located in Fort McMurray, AB.


Work schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
