Disaster Restoration Technician - London, Canada - Shamas Contracting

We provide restoration services to properties in the London & surrounding area that have sustained damage from fires, floods, sewer backups, wind, and other disasters

Regular hours are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday and afterhours call outs as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities:_

Work alongside a crew to perform restoration/contracting duties.

• Performing demolition including but not limited to: removing damaged or wet building materials such as carpet, pad, baseboard, cabinets, drywall, etc
• Extracting water from flooded structures using commercial extraction equipment.
• Removing contents from affected areas and assessing damage.
• Packing in/out contents.
• Setting up equipment, including dehumidifiers, large fans, additional drying and deodorizing equipment
• Take moisture readings.
• General cleaning duties as required on job sites.
• Post construction cleanups.
• Responsible to work with the team to ensure proper maintenance and cleaning of equipment and warehouse area.
• Drywalling; hang, poly, insulate.
• Work alongside staff to perform other miscellaneous duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Driver's license
  required.
• Communicate in English both written and verbal
• Be physically capable of lifting (50 lbs.), bending and performing repetitive tasks
• Ability to take required restoration courses (i.e., water technician, working at heights, etc)
• Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of settings and with shifting priorities and deadlines
• Able to work well in team environments as well as independently
• Be available to work evenings/weekends if needed
• Experience in the restoration/construction industry considered an asset

Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
