This is a hybrid role located at dentalcorp's Toronto Support Centre and reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the Payroll team's administrative functions; optimizing their time so they can best support the business.

This involves payroll administration and support, reviewing and assigning dc Assist (Service Now) tickets coming into the department, identifying, and communicating trends in those tickets and ensuring all tickets are addressed to completion in a timely manner.

Responsibilities also involve ensuring that incoming and outgoing correspondence is handled with care and routed correctly, helping draft and check official communications, resolving payment discrepancies and support and perform projects as assigned by management.

In this role, you will

  • Assist in preparation and administration of payroll run and reports.
  • Process payroll changes such as, vacation, manual adjustments, and check for accuracy prior to submitting payroll for review.
  • Resolve issues related to payroll input and providing information as required.
  • Validate payroll information, prepare, and amend Record of Employment (ROEs), respond to, or refer queries to the appropriate team for resolution.
  • Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies on EFT payments and other payment issues.
  • Working closely with the Payroll Supervisor support the daytoday activities of the department.
  • Maintain an accurate knowledge of best practice payroll procedures, company policies and government legislation.
  • Develop and support systems and processes to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the payroll departments' dc Assist (Service Now) ticketing receipt and response process.
  • Develop and ensure timely customer centric team responses to Payroll queries, as required.
  • Provide crosstraining and back up support to ensure seamless payroll process.
  • Prepare invoices, garnishment, or government AP remittance request for payment to the vendor.
  • Prepare requests, ensure materials are confidential and given only to authorized parties.
  • Maintain strong cross functional team relationships.
  • Manage departmental calendar and events planning, in consultation with management.
  • Provide high level administrative support to all Payroll team colleagues as and when required.
What we're looking for

  • Postsecondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification in progress
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Outlook etc.)
  • 1+ year payroll experience in a fast paced, high growth payroll environment
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills (bilingual an advantage but not required)
  • Engaged team member, demonstrating organizational skills and attention to detail at all times
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, reprioritize and ask for help as required, accurately meet deadlines, always present a professional demeanor, and work well independently is essential
  • Troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with a cando attitude and the ability to adjust to

  • Must have ability to at all times maintain confidentiality and practice professional discretion in interactions and dealings with all others
