We are seeking a motivated individual to join our dynamic, diverse team in the role of
Financial Controller
for our head office/production facility, located in Scoudouc, NB
Reporting to the President, this role will ensure that robust internal controls are in place to maximize the use of financial resources, along with providing advice to the senior leadership team on operational and expansion projects.
Daily Duties
Manage daily operations of the Ditech Accounting functional area, including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Credit / Collections, Cash Management, Budgeting, and Forecasting.
- Monitor the company's financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Managed a diverse accounting team, currently three employees but forecasted to grow.
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, reporting and analysis.
- Coordinate internal audits to monitor performance and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Initiate process improvement projects which would provide efficiencies and capital reallocation.
- Be the primary contact with our financial institutions.
- Act as the business owner of the ERP system, currently Syspro Version 8.
Education
- Bachelor's degree and CPA.
Requirements:
- Postsecondary education in a related field is required, including a CPA designation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations
- Advanced analytical skills.
- Experience in cost accounting
- Experience in implementing ERP from an accounting perspective is an asset
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
- 7+ years of accounting experience.
- 5+ years in a management role.
- Proficient use of Sage financial software.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Excel
- Proficiency in Power BI is an asset
