Seasonal Agro Opportunities
Wetaskiwin Co-op has multiple exciting seasonal job opportunities working in our very busy Agro Department, located at Street in Wetaskiwin Alberta.
We are looking for seasonal help who have excellent customer service skills, that can multitask and function in a fast-paced fertilizer business.
Agriculture background is an asset.Seasonal Driver
- Valid class 3 licence (minimum)
- Flexible availability for morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
- Floater operator experience is an asset.
- Clean driving record and drivers abstract.
- Perform daily inspections and safety checks.
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and managers.
- Maintain accurate and up to date logbooks.
- Deliver products to customers within established timelines in accordance with all safety protocols.
- Following safety and housekeeping standards, policies, and procedures.
- Complying with all regulatory requirements.
Seasonal Plant/Yard Personnel
- Valid class 5 licence (minimum)
- Flexible availability for morning, evening, and weekend shifts.
- Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude.
- Exceptional customer service skills both in person and over the phone.
- Load, unload, and deliver Agro related products in an efficient manner.
- Operate and service equipment used in the movement of fertilizer products.
- Keep equipment and facilities clean, well maintained, and free of fire hazards.
- Following safety and housekeeping standards, policies, and procedures.
- Complying with all regulatory requirements.
Seasonal Warehouse Personnel
- Unloading and receiving product from multiple freight trucks and couriers daily.
- Building pallets for customer orders as per loading copies.
- Ability to regularly bend and twist, with repetitive lifting to 60 lbs.
- Operate equipment such as a reach truck and pallet jacks in a safe, efficient manner.
- Follow safety and housekeeping standards, policies, and procedures.
- Complying with all regulatory requirements.
Seasonal Agronomy Assistant
- Valid class 5 licence (minimum)
- Assist the agronomy team with their daytoday job duties and trial plot analysis.
- Conduct crop and field inspections for insects, pests, and diseases.
- Conduct plant counts and take field notes on crop emergence.
- Introduce crop supply products and resources to satisfy customer needs.
- Positioning of field signs.
- Following safety and housekeeping standards, policies, and procedures.
- Complying with all regulatory requirements.
