    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    Reporting to the Patient Care Manager of Diagnotic Imaging, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing echocardiogram exams in a patient-centered, multidisciplinary setting.

    The position will entail performing studies on both inpatients, and outpatients, as well as doing portable exams on the medical wards.

    Responsibilities will include transthoracic echo, stress echo (dobutamine and exercise), transesophageal echo, report preparation, documentation, equipment maintenance and sanitization.


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Successful completion of recognized Echocardiography course with recognized clinical placement
    • A.R.D.M.S. required
    • Ability to acquire excellent images for 2D and Echo Doppler, and to assist with TEE
    • Experience with Dobutamine and Stress Echo an asset
    • Current BCLS certification
    • Demonstrated computer data entry skills for Hospital Information system
    • Ability to function effectively in an organized manner, using self-direction to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
    • Excellent communication (oral, written, telephone) and interpersonal skills with a well-developed customer service focus, dealing effectively with internal customers, physicians, and the community
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Must have satisfactory performance record;

    • Demonstrated understanding of and, commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety program and practices including staff, patient, and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this are;

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

    The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.

    Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
